The role of the Physical Therapist operates in an onsite rehabilitation facility where patient-centered care is a priority. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a variety of therapeutic tasks including:

  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments of the client's needs, which may include physical tests, functional abilities, and environment evaluations.
  • Conducting thorough evaluations to identify patients' levels of mobility and physical limitations, ensuring that treatment goals are established collaboratively with the client and their family.
  • Directly supervising physical therapy assistants to ensure that treatment plans are executed accurately and effectively.
  • Administering therapeutic exercises, manual therapies, and utilizing physical agents like heat and cold treatments in a safe and effective manner.
  • Documenting patient progress and maintaining up-to-date clinical records to communicate changes in patient conditions and responses to treatment.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adapt the treatment plan as needed, enhancing collaborative care.
  • Providing education to patients and their families regarding treatment methods, home exercises, and the usage of any prescribed mobility or therapeutic equipment.
  • Applying for the necessary adjustments and modifications to prosthetic and orthotic devices in collaboration with referring physicians.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your expertise will focus primarily on patients recovering from surgery, injuries, or chronic conditions that affect their mobility and strength. You will work with a diverse client demographic, including geriatric patients with complex needs and younger patients rehabilitating from sports injuries. Your commitment to delivering personalized care will be instrumental in helping patients achieve independence and improve their overall well-being.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate is preferred.
  • A current, valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia.
  • Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive therapy environment for clients.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of care and upholding professional integrity.
  • Ability to create and lead educational initiatives aimed at enhancing patient engagement in their care.

Preferred Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of two years of hands-on experience as a licensed Physical Therapist, ideally within a rehabilitation or home care setting. Experience working with diverse patient populations and in multidisciplinary teams will be highly advantageous in this role.

Compensation and Benefits
