Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Encompass Rehabilitation Center, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Directing and developing physical therapy treatment plans focused on preventing disability and relieving pain while optimizing muscle function.
• Overseeing the work of physical therapy assistants to ensure effective implementation of individualized care plans.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' physical capabilities through diagnostic assessments, including muscle strength tests, functional behavior analysis, and mobility assessments.
• Making evidence-based recommendations regarding home modifications and environmental adjustments to promote client independence.
• Delivering prescribed physical therapy services, including manual therapeutic exercises, traction, and application of various physical agents.
• Evaluating, fitting, and adjusting orthotic and prosthetic devices and collaborating with physicians on potential modifications.
• Actively participating in the development and evaluation of care plans, ensuring they are consistently updated to reflect the client's progress.
• Documenting all clinical information accurately and timely, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries for incorporation into patient records.
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team during case conferences to address comprehensive treatment strategies for each patient.
• Educating clients and families regarding physical therapy devices and the overall rehabilitation process.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist, you will primarily work with clients recovering from surgeries, injuries, chronic pain, and other conditions that impact mobility and physical function. The patient population will range from elderly clients needing rehabilitation after hip or knee surgeries to younger patients engaged in recovery from sports-related injuries. Your role will be critical in helping each client improve their physical abilities and regain a sense of independence.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred.
• A valid and current Physical Therapy license in the State of New Jersey.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• A robust understanding of therapeutic protocols and the ability to apply clinical judgment in dynamic situations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience
