Key Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized therapy programs developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, assisting patients in regaining mobility, strength, and functionality.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities, including manual therapy and neuromuscular reeducation, under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of each patient's treatments, progress, and responses using our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Educate patients on safe movement techniques and home exercise programs to encourage independent practice and maintain improvements between therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Physical Therapists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience and continuity of care.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary and reporting any significant changes in the patient's condition to the supervising Physical Therapist or physician.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on outpatient orthopedic patients, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic pain conditions. The diverse patient population may include young athletes, active adults, and seniors seeking rehabilitation to enhance their daily activities and quality of life.

Qualifications

  • Education: A minimum of an Associate's Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
  • Licensure: A current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New Jersey is necessary to practice in this role.
  • Skills: The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage time effectively and work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Certifications: CPR certification is required, or a willingness to obtain before starting.

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an outpatient setting is preferred.
  • Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation is highly desirable, although new graduates with a strong educational background are also encouraged to apply.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 per year, determined by experience and qualifications.
