Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our outpatient office, allowing for direct interaction with patients and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships. The work environment is friendly and collaborative, with a focus on patient-centered care. Our office hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, promoting a healthy work-life balance for our staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough physical assessments to identify individual patient needs, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Design and implement targeted physical therapy programs that aim to improve mobility, alleviate pain, enhance balance, and address functional limitations.
  • Administer hands-on treatments including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and strategies for fall prevention.
  • Facilitate the safe recovery of patients, guiding them to regain independence in daily activities through tailored therapeutic interventions.
  • Educate patients and their families about exercises, wellness techniques, and self-care strategies to promote continued recovery.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of patient treatments and progress to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and support continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and fellow therapists, to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient.
  • Monitor patient progress closely, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans based on ongoing assessments and feedback.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves an outpatient population, including adults recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic pain. Those with mobility challenges and the geriatric population are prevalent amongst our clientele. Our commitment is to provide specialized care that respects each patient's unique circumstances and empowers them to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

  • Possession of an active Physical Therapist license in New Jersey is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in physical therapy is essential, preferably in an outpatient or geriatric setting.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and clinical skills, with an ability to communicate empathetically and collaborate effectively with patients and team members.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred; additional specialty certifications in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation are a plus.
  • A valid driver's license with reliable transportation is required for attending to any offsite patient needs.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working specifically with the aging population and understanding their unique rehabilitation needs is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient tracking is advantageous.
  • Ability to apply evidence-based practices in treatment planning to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
