Muscleworks Rehab & Physical Therapy Center is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time Physical Therapist Assistant to enhance our dynamic team at our Ottawa location in Rome, New York. Work Environment

The role requires working onsite within a hospital setting, engaging closely with both patients and a multidisciplinary healthcare team. The hours are structured from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans for our patients, ensuring each program aligns with their rehabilitation goals.
• Provide direct, hands-on care, utilizing therapeutic techniques under the guidance of the supervising physical therapist.
• Educate and instruct patients on rehabilitation exercises and home programs designed to enhance their recovery.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously throughout therapy sessions, adapting treatment approaches as necessary to ensure optimal healing.
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians and occupational therapists, to provide a holistic approach to patient care.
• Implement trigger point therapy techniques and other manual therapy modalities as prescribed to relieve pain and restore function.
• Support occupational health initiatives and participate in outreach programs aimed at promoting health and wellness in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will interact with a broad spectrum of patients, from young athletes recovering from injuries to older adults managing chronic pain conditions. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or a closely related field.
• A current and active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) state license.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a rehabilitation setting.
• Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Excellent manual therapy skills, with proficiency in various therapeutic modalities.
• A compassionate approach to patient care, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
