Nursing Surgical Charge Entry Specialists play a pivotal role in facilitating seamless surgical processes by accurately capturing and managing charge data.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

We seek candidates with the following educational background:

A degree from an accredited Registered Nursing program, preferably Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certification/Licenses:

A valid Registered Nurse (R.N.) license issued by New Mexico State is mandatory.

Skills:

  • Surgical procedure knowledge is essential for this position.
  • Effective communication skills are necessary to collaborate with healthcare teams.

EXPERIENCE: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have at least five years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with one year dedicated to operating room experience. Three years of relevant experience in system applications, including a minimum of one year as a project implementation team lead, is required.

Desired Qualifications: We prefer candidates with eight years of experience as a Registered Nurse. A BSN is preferred. Strong computer skills are necessary. Five years of progressive responsibility in large complex information systems environments with various Healthcare Management Information Systems applications recommended. Extensive clinical practice is preferred.

NATURE OF SUPERVISION:

This position reports directly to the Director, Surgical Services.

ENVIRONMENT:

General office and hospital settings with exposure to computer rooms and patient care environments.

PHYSICAL and SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Travel may be required.
  2. Mandatory work outside regular working hours might occur.
  3. Prolonged work periods during critical issues or implementations are possible.
  4. The candidate may need to withhold paid-time off during critical problems or implementations with adequate prior notice.
  5. Ability to lift and transfer objects typically not exceeding 50 pounds.
  6. Extended use of video display terminals and keyboards utilizing sound ergonomic principles.
