Employment Type:* Full time *Shift:* Day Shift *Description:* Our Cardiovascular Lab is a five-procedure room suite providing invasive cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, structured heart procedures with PFO/ASD closures, myocardial ablations and peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventions including carotid stenting. In addition, we perform surgical procedures including pacemaker insertions, ICD insertions, generator changes, transcatheter aortic valve replacement and mitral clips. Working with a team of credentialed invasive cardiologists and vascular surgeons, we provide scheduled inpatient and outpatient procedures Monday - Friday and emergent procedures on a 24-hour basis. Work/Life:* Predictable patterned scheduling options balance work/life/school calendars. *Responsible for collaboration, communication & facilitation of optimal provision of care with a team approach with physicians, LPN scrub techs and circulating RNs. * Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the patient's plan of care from arrival to transfer out of procedural area. * Monitor and assist with procedures, deliver care modalities including care of critically ill patients while in the lab. * Utilize clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills & the principles of case management & adult education to coordinate, implement & support the plan of care. * Ensure a seamless, effective, efficient transition of care across the continuum. * Respond to AMI calls in the ED and inpatient units. * Monitor quality metrics specific to the department & ensure complete & accurate documentation in the patient record. * Ensures quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and Nursing and Clinical Service standards of care and practice. *Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:* * Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York. * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
