This role operates in a Residential Care Facility (RCF) Setting , which is a type of facility that provides services for people with mental illness and other disabilities (Iowa Health & Human Services). Rather than institutionalizing individuals who have these physical and mental health needs, RCF settings provide these individuals with the opportunity to live and receive services in a way honoring to them and their abilities.

• Individual Goals & Person-Centered Support: Collaborate with the RCF Administrator and/or Program Supervisor on individual goals and implement program plans as written, including active treatment, range-of-motion exercises, ADLs, meaningful activities, and community participation. 
• Behavioral Support, Choice & Advocacy: Use approved behavioral strategies and programs to support individuals while promoting independence, personal choice, dignity, and decision-making; apply rights restrictions only as directed by the IDT and individual service plan. 
• Direct Support & Safety: Maintain a safe, respectful environment using the least restrictive approach; complete required data and incident reporting, support personal appearance and cleanliness, respect individual property, and contribute to a positive mealtime and household atmosphere. 
• Medication & Health Support: Safely administer medications, treatments, and G-tube feedings as applicable; monitor PRN medications, vital signs, and side effects; complete required documentation and assessments; manage medication and medical supply inventory; and maintain a clean, organized medication area. 
• Daily Operations & Food Safety: Maintain reliable attendance and follow scheduling and call-in procedures, including weekends and holidays; complete assigned shift duties and ensure safe food preparation, storage, sanitation, and handling practices.
