Job Description
The Labor and Delivery Nurse will provide care to patients during labor and delivery processes, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for mothers and newborns. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, monitoring fetal heart rates, assisting with deliveries, and providing post-partum care.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess maternal and fetal heart rates during labor.
- Administer medications and perform necessary medical procedures.
- Assist in deliveries, including vaginal births and cesarean sections.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
Qualifications
- MUST HAVE 18 months of permanent experience in Labor and Delivery prior to travel.
- MUST HAVE 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience at Level III or IV facilities, including scrub and circulating experience.
- Must possess a valid Ohio nursing license or a compact state license in hand at the time of submission.
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required and must be active.
- ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate will be completed during orientation, with acceptable scores required.
- Willingness to work at least every other holiday.
Additional Requirements
- ONE reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty applying for is REQUIRED for submission.
- Must have completed BCI/FBI prints within 48 hours of signing the contract.
- Negative 10 Panel + Nicotine drug screen required within 12 months of start and updated annually.
- PAPRs are not an acceptable alternative for caregivers with facial hair unless a medical or religious exemption is approved.
- All essential pre-start modules must be completed prior to the start date.
