Our client, a leading company in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced Engineering and Maintenance Manager to oversee critical operations within their facility in Rochester, NY. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead engineering initiatives, manage maintenance teams, and drive productivity enhancements.   • Responsibilities: Ensure sound engineering practices in the design and modification of equipment and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime.
  • Manage new equipment installations and startups, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Design, install, and launch equipment modifications to enhance productivity.
  • Negotiate pricing and purchase equipment and services as needed.
  • Draft and manage capital expenditure requisitions, including justification and cost analysis.
  • Lead and oversee the maintenance department, providing guidance and direction.
  • Ensure adequate utilities to support smooth manufacturing operations and ancillary systems.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and promote workplace safety.
  • Participate in manufacturing improvement efforts such as press speed optimization and utilization enhancements.
  • Serve as a member of the Food Safety Team within the Center of Excellence (COE) Leadership Team.


  • Must-Have Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 4-10 years of relevant experience in engineering and maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical skills, including advanced mathematical concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write reports and present information effectively.


  • Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience drafting capital expenditure requisitions and managing capital projects.
  • Familiarity with OSHA compliance and workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Experience with packaging systems and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of operational improvement methodologies, such as QCO or Lean Manufacturing.
