Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant to become an integral member of our rehabilitation team at Muscleworks Rehab & Physical Therapy Center. This role plays a critical part in enhancing patient recovery by assisting in the delivery of physical therapy interventions as directed by licensed physical therapists. The successful candidate will be engaged in comprehensive patient care aimed at rehabilitation, pain management, and improvement of mobility.

Work Environment

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite within our dynamic hospital setting in Saratoga Springs. The role features a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate effectively with licensed physical therapists to implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Provide hands-on therapy, including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation, under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
• Educate patients on personalized exercise regimens and rehabilitation activities that support their recovery goals.
• Monitor and accurately document patient progress, ensuring adherence to treatment protocols and making adjustments as needed in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Employ trigger point therapy techniques when indicated, to relieve muscle tension and enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to optimize patient care and engage with colleagues on operational health initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized therapy space, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work with a diverse patient population, ranging from young athletes recovering from sports injuries to older adults regaining strength and mobility post-surgery. Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field is required.
• Current and active state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA).
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in physical therapy settings, preferably within orthopedic rehabilitation.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, with proficiency in manual therapy techniques.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing compassionate patient care; ability to build rapport with patients and families.

Preferred Experience

Preferred candidates will have experience in orthopedic settings and familiarity with rehabilitation technologies and practices, as well as participation in strength and conditioning programs.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary range of USD 50,000 to 70,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
