Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical evaluations of patients to develop individualized therapy plans tailored to their specific needs and health goals.
  • Design and implement progressive therapy programs that focus on mobility, pain management, balance improvement, and addressing functional limitations.
  • Deliver hands-on treatments including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and strategies for fall prevention.
  • Assist patients in regaining and maintaining their independence in daily activities through targeted therapy interventions.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective exercises, care strategies, and wellness techniques to enhance overall health and quality of life.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of patient progress, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and supporting continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including nurses and other therapists, to provide coordinated, whole-person care.
  • Monitor patient outcomes closely, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and providing updates on patient condition to physicians and families.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on patients within the rehabilitation setting, which may include individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic illnesses. Special attention will be given to older adults who may be dealing with age-related mobility challenges and require a tailored approach to regain their independence and confidence in daily activities.

Qualifications

  • Active Physical Therapist license in the state of New Jersey is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist; experience working with geriatric patients in a rehabilitation or assisted living context is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge with strong skills in empathetic communication, adaptability, and teamwork.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. Additional certifications in geriatrics or neurological rehabilitation are a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for any patient-related travel.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in rehabilitation settings with a specific focus on therapeutic interventions for geriatric populations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline documentation and patient management.
  • Ability to develop family education programs that enhance patient involvement in their recovery process.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
